Until further order of court, the circuit court will begin hearing all matters in all Districts and Divisions of the court, with the exception of jury trials.

PLEASE NOTE: Masks/Face Coverings, temperature check, and health screening are required in the Daley Center, all Courthouse Buildings, and all other Clerk's Office locations. No admittance otherwise. If you do not have a mask, the building may provide you with one, if available. Availability is not guaranteed.

Judges will be available in person or remotely in each Division, Department, and District to hear emergency matters, as determined by the Presiding Judge of the respective division or district.

Except as otherwise ordered by the assigned judge, all hearings shall be conducted by videoconferencing. If it is not reasonably possible to conduct a hearing by videoconference, it may be conducted by teleconference.

Cases assigned to the branch courts in the city of Chicago at 3150 West Flournoy Street, 5555 W. Grand Ave., and 727 E. 111th St. shall resume hearings at these locations via teleconference or videoconference whenever it is reasonably possible; otherwise, at the discretion of the judge presiding, in person hearings shall be allowed.

Emergency petitions in Probate or Domestic Relations cases will be heard in those divisions in the Daley Center. Petitioners may participate in hearings via videoconference. All court matters may continue to be electronically filed with the Clerk of the Court, or pursuant to the exemptions enumerated in Illinois Supreme Court Rule 9.

Limit in-person contact by using clerk’s office remote access services, email to make an appointment, utilize efiling, and email motions for bail review.

Court users are encouraged to utilize efiling for court filings, pay-by-phone to pay for services, and/or schedule appointments for in-person clerk’s office services. Contacting the clerk’s office by email is preferred for faster service.

How to get your next court date

To learn the date of your rescheduled court hearing, you may use one of the following methods:

Search online case docket

Use “lookup case info” on the Cook County Clerk’s website to get information on your civil and traffic cases. You may search by name or case number for civil type cases, or your traffic ticket or driver’s license number for traffic cases. Criminal case information is not on the website for non-attorneys. Defendants should contact their public defender or private attorney for their next court date, attorneys should use the CCC Portal for Illinois License Attorneys. Text or email

A text or email message can be sent to the appropriate division/department/district of your court hearing to request your next court date for civil, traffic, and criminal cases. Text or email your case number, or, if you do not have your case number, text the plaintiff or defendant’s name for civil case types, or the defendant’s name and birthdate for a criminal case.  Click here for a complete list of texting phone numbers and email addresses for obtaining next court dates


Use free mobile app

Download the clerk of the circuit court’s free mobile app, court clerk mobile connect, on your mobile device and use it to get your updated civil type cases, for domestic relations, probate, chancery, law, county, and civil divisions, and suburban districts or for traffic cases. You will need to enter your case number for civil cases or your ticket or driver’s license number for traffic cases. Call automated interactive voice system

Call the automated interactive voice system for the appropriate division/department/district for civil, traffic, and criminal cases, to obtain your next court date. You will need to enter your case number to get your court date.  Click here for a complete list of telephone numbers for obtaining next court dates. If you call the automated system, and it says, “no next court date”, please text or email the specific division, department or district, or check the mobile app or the website to verify.


Illinois licensed attorneys portal for criminal cases

Illinois license attorneys can obtain the next court date for criminal cases by registering and using the ccc portal for Illinois license attorneys. Defendants should contact their public defender or private attorney for their next court date.
